Day 02
Drive: Antananarivo – Andasibe National Park
160 km (approx. 4 hours)

• Breakfast at the hotel in Antananarivo

• Drive from Antananarivo to Andasibe National Park

• En route stop at a reptile farm: first encounter with chameleons, geckos, and other reptiles

• Upon arrival in Andasibe – visit to Lemur Island, with the opportunity to hand-feed lemurs and take memorable photos with these amazing animals

• Excursion to the private Vakona Reserve: other wildlife, crocodiles, and fossas

• Late lunch and rest

• Evening excursion in a private reserve in search of nocturnal lemurs

• Dinner at a restaurant

• Overnight at a hotel in Andasibe

Day 03
Drive: Andasibe – Manambato (3–4 hours),
Boat transfer along the Pangalanes Canal to Palmarium (1 hour)

• Breakfast at the hotel in Andasibe

• Morning guided walk in Andasibe National Park: Indri indri (the largest lemurs), diademed sifakas, tree boas, nocturnal lemurs resting during the day, and more

• After the excursion – drive to Manambato (3–4 hours)

• Lunch in Manambato on the lakeshore

• After lunch – scenic motorboat transfer along the Pangalanes Canal and lakes to Palmarium

• Upon arrival at Palmarium – check-in and dinner

• Evening walk through the humid tropical rainforest in search of nocturnal lemurs

• Overnight at Palmarium

Day 04
Full program in Palmarium

• Breakfast at Palmarium

• Morning excursion through the tropical rainforest: numerous lemurs including varis, indris, and brown lemurs

• Visit to a vanilla plantation

• Free time after the excursion; swimming in the lake is possible

• Lunch at Palmarium

• Afternoon boat excursion to a fishing village to learn about the daily life of the Betsimisaraka fishermen and visit the ocean shore

• After dark – excursion to Aye-Aye Island to see the unique and rare nocturnal lemur

• Dinner at Palmarium

• Overnight at Palmarium

Day 05
Transfer: Palmarium – Antananarivo (7–8 hours)

• Breakfast at Palmarium

• Boat transfer from Palmarium to Manambato, then drive to Antananarivo

• Lunch en route in the Andasibe area

• Arrival in Antananarivo and check-in at the hotel

Day 06
Drive: Antananarivo – Antsirabe
160 km (approx. 4 hours)

• Breakfast at the hotel in Antananarivo

• Drive from Antananarivo to Antsirabe

• Upon arrival – check-in at the hotel and lunch

• Visit to the mysterious and myth-filled Lake Tritriva, a deep crater lake formed in the caldera of an ancient extinct volcano (about 1 hour each way)

• After returning to the city – visit to a local gemstone and mineral shop-museum

• Dinner and rest

• Overnight at a hotel in Antsirabe

Day 07
Drive: Antsirabe – Morondava (10–11 hours)

• Breakfast at the hotel in Antsirabe

• Drive to Morondava; lunch en route

• During the day the landscapes outside the window change dramatically as we arrive in the region of dry tropical forests and baobabs

• Upon arrival – check-in at the hotel

• If time allows before dark, a short boat excursion through mangrove channels with a visit to a local fishing village

• Opportunity to swim in the ocean and observe coastal life

• Overnight at a hotel in Morondava

Day 08
Full-day program: Morondava – Avenue of the Baobabs – Kirindy Reserve – Avenue of the Baobabs – Morondava
(3–4 hours one way)

• Breakfast at the hotel in Morondava

• Short drive to the Avenue of the Baobabs for a morning photo session among the majestic trees

• Drive to Kirindy Reserve (approx. 3 hours), with stops at sacred ancient baobabs along the way

• Upon arrival in Kirindy – extensive guided walk through the dry tropical forest: lemurs, lizards, chameleons

• With some luck, we may see fossas – the local predators that sometimes appear near the Kirindy lodge restaurant

• After the excursion – transfer to a nearby lodge with a swimming pool and restaurant; time for lunch and relaxation by the pool

• In the afternoon, drive back toward the Avenue of the Baobabs for the most spectacular photo session: baobabs at sunset

• Return to the hotel in Morondava, dinner

• Overnight at a hotel in Morondava

Day 09
Coastal relaxation in Morondava – beach program

• Breakfast at the hotel in Morondava

• Leisure time, relaxation, beach activities

• On request, a picnic can be organized on a beautiful nearby sandbank, reached by boat, with fresh seafood and fish

• Overnight at a hotel in Morondava

Day 10
Flight: Morondava – Antananarivo

• Breakfast at the hotel in Morondava

• If time allows before the flight, swimming in the ocean

• Upon arrival in Antananarivo – check-in at the hotel

• If arrival is relatively early, an optional visit to Ambohimanga – the former royal residence of the kings of Madagascar, as well as shopping for souvenirs

• Overnight at a hotel in Antananarivo

Day 11
Departure

• Breakfast at the hotel in Antananarivo

• Transfer to the airport and departure home
